The cheque problem
Ninety percent of shops have no real punch system. A foreman marks who showed up, and you trust the cheque is right. It usually isn't — and you've got nothing to prove it.
Five-plus years of hours to get your ticket, for about the same pay as a two-year trade. You resent the dues because nobody shows you the value. That's the opening.
So the first thing Sparky does is simple: track your shift, show your real net pay after dues, and let you check your stub. Prove your paycheck is right.
The knowledge problem
